Rosenwald Schools in Bartow County
This special Black History Month presentation explores the powerful story of organized African American education in Bartow County, Georgia, during a time when no public school accommodations existed for Black students. The session highlights the transformative role of the Rosenwald Fund, which between 1912–1932 helped establish 4,978 African American schools across fifteen southern states. Georgia alone benefited from the construction of 242 Rosenwald schools, shaping generations of learners.
