Dive into the captivating history of Bartow with our upcoming lecture series, promising an in-depth exploration of its rich tapestry.

The Cartersville Mining District holds renown among economic geologists globally and is one of the oldest continuously mined regions in the southeastern United States. Recognized by the US Military for its mineral wealth, it underwent a geological study aimed at mapping Bartow ores to support wartime efforts. Bartow stands as the sole producer of ochre and umber in the western hemisphere, historically leading in chemical and filler grade barite production in the United States, and playing a crucial role as a supplier of manganese and iron. Additionally, it contributes as a minor source of gold, graphite, and bauxite.
